Northwest Petroleum (NWP) is a branded fuel retailer and an official fuel partner of Shell and Phillips 66. Operating over 60 sites, we’re proud to be a premier player in the industry since 1991.

In addition to providing top tier fuel to the motoring public in the Greater Houston Area, Austin, and San Antonio markets, we also own and operate QMart, a proprietary convenience store line built with modernity and technology at its core.

NWP story

With humble beginnings, extraordinary feats can be achieved

In 1991, Fazil Malik started the company with just one leased location in the northwest pocket of Houston, TX. This is where NWP found its name, Northwest Petroleum.

NWP’s business philosophy was simple: find, train and develop talented and hardworking individuals, demand unparalleled quality, and look for new ways to rise past the competition, from ordinary into the extraordinary.

Through the next 30 years, NWP would grow to be a premier player in the industry, securing jobber contracts with Shell, Phillips 66, and Chevron. Today, NWP owns and operates more than 35 retail locations in Houston, Austin, San Antonio, and Southern Oklahoma, while always keeping an eye out for expansion opportunities.

Their portfolio includes 19 Burger Kings, 4 Denny’s and a Pilot Flying J travel center. Additionally, NWP’s proprietary c-store brand, QMart, has gained recognition for setting the highest standard of quality in the industry, with more locations on the horizon.
